2.3: Set default color scheme (light/dark)

All 2.3 styles come with "Style Variations". This means both the light and dark version of the theme are included in a single file. A "Style Variations" icon in the user panel and in the footer allow your members to change between "System", "Light" and "Dark".

By default, the "System" option is assigned, which sets light or dark based on your operating system. Xenforo hasn't included a setting to change this, so if you'd like to set dark as default (for example), you'll need to install the "Style Variation Default" addon by Kirby.

So to get a dark/light theme variation on one of your 2.3 themes we need to install the addon from Kirby?

No, the light/dark variations come with all of my themes - you don't need the addon for that. If you want to set the dark color as the default colour, then you'll need the addon.

If you want the system variation as default (so your site automatically sets light/dark depending on the operating system value), you don't need anything, since that is how Xenforo handles light/dark mode.
