Can a Home page be added as a News landing?

On the regular XenForo template you can add a Home page. The code was created by 8wayrun, the link is listed below. My friend's site is currently using it. 9thcivic.com

This should be fine. I'm fairly certain a few of our customers have used xenporta without any problems.
