I thought I would post here and save some other members time. I just did the update to 2.3.7 running Uniform, and there were no template changes in case anyone is wondering. I hope this helps.

We'd also like to take this opportunity to notify all third party developers that writing database queries inside templates is not recommended. While this is still allowed in XenForo 2.3.7, the behaviour is now considered deprecated and will be prevented in XenForo 2.3.8. Code which currently triggers this will insert an error into the Server error log and must be fixed prior to the release of XenForo 2.3.8. Where possible, data must be queried and processed and passed into the template rather than being written inside the template itself.

I just upgraded my Dimension Pro themed Xenforo to 2.3.7 and I have missing icons for inbox, alerts, search and the customize button doesn't work. Can this be remedied?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

What version have you upgraded from? If this is your first upgrade to 2.3, you should install the 2.3 theme from scratch. There was a significant number of changes from 2.2 to 2.3 so the upgrade process potentially isn’t very reliable.

Yes, this is the first forum upgrade from 2.2. to 2.3.x. So with a theme install from scratch - do all customizations need to be applied again?

Unfortunately yes, but they’ll then persist throughout the 2.3 (and hopefully 2.4) lifetime
